The Editor and Associate Editors welcome all submissions, original articles or reviews, in animal models or humans in which the consequences of COVID-19 during pregnancy on the mother or in the offspring are described and potential mechanisms are tested. 

Sex Differences in Infectious Diseases
The Editor and Associate Editors welcome all submissions, original articles or reviews, in animal models or humans in which sex differences in infectious diseases such as COVID-19 are described and potential mechanisms are tested. All manuscripts will undergo expedited (7 days) peer review, and will be available online on the journal's website.

Mechanisms Responsible for Sex Differences in Stroke
Men are at greater risk of mortality from stroke. Although, the presence of hypertension, obesity and metabolic syndrome, and diabetes are some of the risk factors for stroke, why women should be protected is not clear.

Sex Differences in Mitochondrial Function in Physiology and Pathophysiology
The role of the mitochondria in mediating hypertension, obesity and heart disease is becoming more apparent.  The Editor and Associate Editors welcome all submissions, original articles or reviews, in animal models or humans in which sex differences in mitochondrial function and dysfunction are studied, and mechanisms are tested.
